Climate-KIC’s The Journey is the world’s largest climate innovation summer school. It brings together students and young professionals from all over the world. The MPE CDT students: Hinesh Chotai Thomas Leahy and Tobias Schwedes took part in five-week long courses offering a unique combination of academic study and real-world business experience with the aim of creating the climate change leaders of tomorrow. Within these five weeks, the students visited three different European locations and teamed up to create compelling cleantech business plans offering solutions to real-world climate related issues. After 5 weeks of training in entrepreneurship and innovation in climate, 15 teams from two journeys competed to pitch their business ideas to a panel of judges and the audience of their peers. Among the winners was SaveDrop (with Thomas Leahy being part of this team) who won the Audience Choice Award.
