The MPE CDT team had a fantastic time celebrating the end of the academic year on 6th July 2016. The event started with a visit to ECMWF warmly hosted by Prof. Erland Källén. The students and staff enjoyed the unique opportunity of a tour through the ECMWF computer hall and weather room and involved vividly in discussions concerning the advantages of working together in improving the weather forecasts and climate modelling. The activity continued with a lovely dinner where past achievements and enthusiastic future plans intertwined in a pleasant atmosphere. We ended the event in an astounding landscape from Whitchurch Hill sharing stories, new ideas, and high hopes for the year to come. Special thanks go to Prof. Ted Shepherd for his hospitality and the good spirits provided.
