The Cross-CDT Dragon’s Den Showcase 2017 is the grand finale of the first inter-Centres for Doctoral Training (CDTs) Dragon’s Den competition run by Imperial Enterprise Lab. Students from four of the universities leading CDTs have been developing their entrepreneurial ideas into projects over the last six months through a series of workshops and one-to-one support. These CDTs are:
- Neurotechnology
- Mathematics of Planet Earth
- High Performance Embedded and Distributed Systems (HIPEDS)
- Sustainable Civil Engineering
The four final teams are:
Cocoon Pushchair & Helmet: A portable device to be attached on pushchairs and helmets that includes air filtering, ventilation and temperature control for ensuring a controlled air circulation. Team members: Melissa Berthelot (HIPEDS) & Martin Priessner (Neurotechnology)
Forex: An automated foreign exchange risk advisor for SMEs.Team members: Tianjiao Sun & Jo Schlemper (both HIPEDs)
Hydrophobic paint solution: A coating which makes any commercial paint more resistant to damage, especially graffiti. Team members: Lilianne Auwerter, Alejandro Ortega Ancel, Marc Heitmann, Simon Francini (all Sustainable Civil Engineering)
Reductive Systems: Providing automatic solutions to fire safety in commercial HVAC Systems. Team members: Charlie Houseago (HIPEDS), Golo Wimmer (Mathematics of Planet Earth) & Thomas Martineau (Neurotechnolgy)
