Classic and Stochastic Approaches to Mathematical Fluid Dynamics

Venue: Imperial College London, ICSM Building, EPSRC Centres for Doctoral Training hub, Room 402, Level 4 North

Date: Monday 2nd Oct 2017 – Friday 6th Oct 2017

Summary: A workshop on classic and stochastic approaches to mathematical fluid dynamics. The aim of the workshop is to explore the latest developments in geophysical fluid dynamics and data assimilation, stochastic and geometric approaches for data assimilation and model errors estimation in geophysical fluid dynamics for numerically predicted weather variability and climate.

The workshop is partially funded by the EPSRC grant EP/N023781/1 entitled ”Variational principles for stochastic parameterizations in geophysical fluid dynamics”. The workshop will be an opportunity to celebrate Prof. Darryl Holm 70th birthday.

Abstract deadline: 10th August 2017
